Take Charge America Funded Financial Literacy Project Awarded National AFCPE “Outstanding Educational Program”

(January 6, 2004)Mike Hall, CEO and president of Take Charge America (TCA) is proud to announce that the Family Financial Literacy Project at Montana State University is the winner of the 2003 Outstanding Educational Program award from the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE).
The Family Financial Literacy Project is funded through a gift from Take Charge America. Its purpose is to design a curriculum for a one-semester high school course in family finance and to educate family and consumer sciences teachers to deliver the curriculum throughout the United States. The on-line curriculum is available to teachers at no cost and can be viewed at http://www.familyfinance.montana.edu/.
The Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education is a non-profit, national organization dedicated to promoting financial management educations, certification of professionals and financial management research. This national award is given to a program that has demonstrated an impact in the field of financial counseling, planning and education. In addition, impact must be demonstrated and evidenced that other practitioners can adapt or replicate the program. The AFCPE website is www.afcpe.org.
