David Richardson - Chief Financial Officer

David Richardson joined Take Charge America in 2008 as Director of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2009. He provides comprehensive financial management services to the organization and oversees all accounting, tax and financial reporting activities.

Richardson specializes in non-profit management and has developed expertise in several areas: budgets, financial audits, cash and investment management, financial reporting, systems conversions and 401(k) plan administration. He brings nearly 30 years of accounting and financial services experience to the organization, most recently serving as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Planned Parenthood Arizona and as a financial consultant for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In these posts, he facilitated the merger of the two Arizona Planned Parenthood affiliates into a single statewide affiliate, directed the integration of accounting, fund-raising, payroll and e-mail software packages, and provided a variety of financial management services to other Planned Parenthood affiliates throughout the country.

Richardson is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the board of the Arizona Family Planning Council and previously served as president of the church council of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix.

Richardson earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Dayton in Ohio and his master’s degree in finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
