U.S. Creditors Launch “Help With My Credit”; Take Charge America Selected to Participate because of its Successful Track Record and Commitment to Educating Consumers on Financial Challenges
PHOENIX – (March 5, 2009) – Take Charge America, Inc., a non-profit financial education, credit counseling and debt management agency, is one of three credit counseling agencies selected nationwide to assist consumers through Help With My Credit, a new resource to raise awareness and educate consumers struggling to pay off credit card debt.
Bank of America, Capital One, Citi and Discover Card launched Help With My Credit in cooperation with MasterCard and Visa. Phoenix-based Take Charge America will assist consumers who need more help than credit issuers are in a position to provide. “One of our primary missions at Take Charge America is to educate consumers on how to manage their debt and save for the future – a necessity in today’s rocky economy,” said Chief Executive John Fisher. “People from all walks of life across the entire country are dealing with financial difficulties, and keeping up with credit card payments is among their top concerns. We want consumers to know they have a resource they can trust.”
In addition to providing one-on-one credit counseling services, Take Charge America has developed an easy-to-use, online resource center that provides individuals with the knowledge they need to manage their finances. Visit www.TakeChargeAmerica.org/HelpWithMyCredit to learn more.
“We have already counseled 1.5 million people across the U.S. gain understanding and better control of their finances, and through the Help With My Credit program, we’ll be able to help even more,” said Fisher.
